Bensonhurt Park's first garden and little free library

This spring marks an exciting new chapter for us. We’re working to transform the small circular area near the park into a welcoming garden space and to install a Little Free Library for neighbors of all ages to enjoy. After a recent site visit with the Parks manager and our Partnership for Parks Senior Community Engagement Coordinator, we’re thrilled to share that both are supportive and that IMP events are already in motion to help bring this vision to life.

This project represents our first-ever garden and our first Little Free Library, expanding our work beyond rides and events and into long-term stewardship of shared public space. The goal is simple: create a small, beautiful place to pause, read, and connect, while adding greenery and care to an area that many pass through every day.

As we move into the spring, we’re excited to roll up our sleeves, invite the community to participate, and watch this little circle grow into something meaningful for the neighborhood. Please be on the look out for our “it’s My Park” through the City Parks Foundation events and come help volunteer
