Route Overview
Full Foliage Route – 79 mi / 2,755 ft: leaves Bensonhurst Park, goes up 21st ave to the USA’s oldest bike path Ocean Pkwy. Up to Prospect Park and over the hill towards northern BK along the waterfront. Cross into Queens along the western side to Socrates Sculpture Park & then over the Triboro into The Bronx via Randall’s Island. Snaking up The Bronx’s various Parkways, river greenways, to Bedford Park and then up to Van Cortlandt Park. Once on the Empire State Trail, smooth sailing up north to Sleepy Hollow. Old Croton Aqueduct Trail & South County Trailway to a Hudson-Riverfront mid ride BBQ festival in Dobbs Ferry. Continue on OCA trail down to the Henry Hudson bridge and back on the Empire State Trail for one final stop at Pier I cafe for some refreshments and a bathroom break, before making our way to the Financial District to the very start of the Empire State Trail. Queens Express Start – 64 mi: join at Socrates Sculpture Park and merge onto the full route at mile 15.

The ride is not a race—feel free to linger at foliage photo spots, but remain ahead of the final ride marshal.

Can I start in Queens but finish early? Yes—feel free to exit the route at any Metro-North station south of Dobbs Ferry.
Are e-bikes allowed? Yes, pedal-assist Class 1 e-bikes (max 20 mph) are welcome; throttled models are not.
Weather policy? Rain or shine; thunderstorm or high-wind postponement moves to Oct 19.
Youth riders? Ages 10–17 may ride their own bike with a registered adult; children under 10 must ride tandem, tag-along, or trailer.
